Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, the Surakshit Hum Surakshit Tum program was initiated in collaboration with our Hyper-Local NGOs (HLNGOs) to showcase a collaborative approach. Operating under the guidance of magistrates and in partnership with over 1000 local HLNGOs, it recruited and trained over 100,000 volunteers for patient outreach through inbound/outbound calls. The initiative, led by district magistrates, significantly contributed to district preparedness by managing approximately 70% of identified COVID-19 cases at home. This approach alleviated pressure on the healthcare system and mitigated widespread fear. Additionally, the program enhanced citizens’ capability to correctly utilize supplied Oxygen concentrators in these districts. It also dispelled myths and misconceptions surrounding vaccination, addressed hesitancy, and promoted COVID Appropriate Behavior within the community. The team successfully mobilized and provided orientation to 7771 Pradhans, 15,303 Panchayat and ward members, 6328 Faith leaders, and 2258 Tribal Leaders. Through these COVID-19 awareness and vaccination campaigns, the Collaborative impacted 2.73 million people.
