Our Journey: Igniting Hope, Inspiring Change
Aspirational Bharat Collaborative
The Aspirational Bharat Collaborative represents a transformative endeavor building upon the ‘Aspirational Districts Program’ initiated by the Honorable Prime Minister and overseen by NITI Aayog. This initiative targets the advancement of 112 of the most underdeveloped districts spanning 27 states. Established through collaboration between the Piramal Foundation and National Institution for Transforming India (NITI) Aayog, the Aspirational Bharat Collaborative aims to address demographic, geographic, and socio-economic challenges that have hindered progress in these districts.
The collaborative, operating on the principles of Collaboration, Competition, and Convergence, seeks to overcome obstacles by fostering local cooperation among stakeholders and district administrations. By leveraging community power to instigate significant, large-scale behavioral change, we aspire to maximize the impact of developmental efforts. Our unique approach involves creating a network of diverse stakeholders, motivating districts to strive for excellence, and aligning with various governmental initiatives.
The robust platform of the collaborative allows local entities, such as NGOs, youth groups, media organizations, and faith leaders, to actively contribute to community transformation. At present, our network comprises 1226 hyper-local NGOs, 8862 Panchayati Raj Institution (PRIs), and 26,052 volunteers all working collaboratively to drive positive change.
Our Mission
Enhance the final stage of delivery by facilitating convergence at the Panchayat level, fostering collaboration with civil society, and conducting campaigns to ensure the saturation of schemes and enhance the delivery of services to citizens in Aspirational Districts.

Our Vision
Assisting भारत in reaching a USD 5 trillion economy by uplifting 100 million citizens residing below the poverty line in 112 Aspirational Districts.
Our Approach
Aspirational Bharat Collaborative is grounded on two levers of change: Collaboration and Convergence.

Convergence
We synchronize efforts at the district level among multiple departments by establishing goal-based forums to define and drive the district’s priority agenda. These forums include representation from department heads and work on enhancing capabilities, aligning department functionaries, and pooling funds for agreed-upon goals. For instance, addressing the dropout rate of girls involves converging efforts with the Departments of Women and Child Development, Public Health, Minority Affairs, and Development and Social Welfare to identify and address specific factors through access to relevant schemes sponsored by the State and Centre
