Our Journey
The Aspirational Bharat Collaborative (BHARATCOLLAB) symbolizes a harmonious alliance between NITI Aayog and the Piramal Foundation. Evolving from its predecessor, the Aspirational Districts Collaborative (ADC), BHARATCOLLAB concentrates on tackling unique demographic, geographic, and socio-economic hurdles found in specific districts and blocks across India. Through promoting localized cooperation and prioritizing convergence at the grassroots level, the Aspirational Bharat Collaborative seamlessly brings together community voices, local stakeholders, and district administrations. This collaborative endeavor is committed to improving the quality of life for millions in India’s underserved regions, ensuring sustainability and substantial positive change.

Education
- Change the mindset, Govt. School to Our School.
- Ensure inclusive and equitable Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE).
- Transform school education by integrating local practices through HLC to enhance learning outcomes.
- Build safe spaces & develop 21st-century life skills for adolescent girls.
- Build on the core tenets of the NEP 2020 and to benefit to the last child.
Health & Nutrition:
- Enabling last-mile healthcare access, by decentralisation & SBC community-led initiatives.
- Strengthening local leadership to eliminate-LF, Kala-azar and Malaria.
- Facilitate community system change through lifecycle approach in RMCH, FP outcomes
- Accelerating ECCD through nutrition-specific interventions
Water
- Strengthening collectives for inclusive, community-led water governance for drinking water security
- Water security by hyper-local management of water conservation, sustainability, and grey water
- Promoting carbon-neutral schools through curriculum reforms, eco-clubs
- Carbon-neutral panchayats based on data decentralised planning and LMC
Gender
- Gender-responsive schools and panchayat systems.
- Introducing gender-transformative education in classrooms.

Initiation with 25 Aspirational Districts

Expansion to 112 Aspirational Districts

Progressing to 160 Aspirational Blocks, encompassing the remaining Aspirational Blocks of Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, and the Palghar Aspirational Block.
We extended the health program in all districts of Bihar & Jharkhand.
Ethos – Sewa Bhav
Collaboration: Integrating endeavors across NGOs, Youth organizations, Local Media, Faith Leaders, Panchayats, and Self-Help Groups (SHGs).
Convergence: Effortlessly connecting governance tiers from the district to the Panchayat level, harmonizing with numerous government programs and schemes.
Community Empowerment: Harnessing the unparalleled power of communities to expedite extensive and rapid behavioral transformations.


Hyperlocal Emphasis

The Aspirational Bharat Collaborative, representing a renewed iteration of the ADC, is centered on Block transformation, bolstering District Administrations, and fostering Hyper-Local Collaboration and Last Mile Convergence at both Block and Panchayat levels.
Our Team
At the core of BharatCollab lies our dedicated team – a diverse cohort of individuals united by a shared vision. Our team comprises of government officials, civil society organizations, local enterprises, community influencers, and countless volunteers. With 25,868 committed collaborators dispersed across 150+ Districts, our reach is extensive, and our impact – profound.
Operated under the guidance of district administrations, our team coordinates and implements initiatives aimed at fostering sustainable development. By harnessing the voices of community leaders, the energy of volunteers, and the commitment of citizens, we endeavor to catalyze transformative changes within these districts.
Together, we are committed to bridging implementation gaps, advocating for efficient resource allocation, and striving to elevate service delivery. Through Last Mile Convergence Forums at the Panchayat level, we envision convergence as a pivotal strategy for bolstering governance and revolutionizing on-the-ground execution. Our collective endeavors are laying the groundwork for enduring development in India’s Aspirational Districts.
Central to our mission is the integration of our programs like the Karuna Fellowship and the Gandhi Fellowship. These programs permeate our efforts with innovative ideas and strategies, further enhancing our approach to addressing local challenges. By integrating these fellowships, we aim to cultivate leaders who are not only well-versed in theoretical knowledge but are also proficient in executing sustainable development initiatives on the ground.
